Tintloom (“the app”) is a color-contrast lab for iPhone. This policy describes what we collect, why, and how to reach us. It is written for a person, not a lawyer.
1. The short version
- Tintloom works offline. Color pairs, favorites, history, palettes, and lesson progress stay on your iPhone.
- There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud sync.
- Camera and photo library are optional and used only when you sample a color. Those pixels are not uploaded.
- No ads. No tracking. No analytics SDK. No sale of data.
2. Who we are
Tintloom is provided as an independent iOS app. Contact: tintloom.support@gmail.com. This address is the privacy and support contact; it is not used for marketing.
3. Data we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, identifiers for advertising, browsing history, or diagnostics. We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporters, or ad networks. We do not track you across apps or websites.
4. On-device data
The current color pair, history, favorites, palettes, onboarding flag, and which lessons you have opened are stored in the app sandbox (UserDefaults). This data does not leave the device.
If you sample a color from a photo or the camera, Tintloom reads pixels on the device to produce a hex value. The image is not stored unless you keep it in Photos yourself. We do not upload photos or camera frames.
5. Permissions
- Camera — only if you tap “Use Camera” to sample a color. You can refuse; the rest of the app still works.
- Photo library — only if you tap “Pick from Photo” to sample a color. You can refuse.
Notifications, location, contacts, microphone, Health, and tracking are not used.
6. Sharing
If you use the system Share sheet, you choose where a text report of a color pair goes (Messages, Mail, Files). That is your action, not ours. We do not receive a copy.
We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or other apps. We do not sell personal information.
7. Retention
On-device data stays until you delete the app or clear it (for example, clearing history in Library). Uninstalling Tintloom removes the sandbox data.
8. Children
Tintloom is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you have read the new version.
