Holdslip (“the app”) is a timed-card box for iPhone. This policy describes what we collect, why, and how to reach us.
1. The short version
- Holdslip works offline. Cards, photos you attach, reminder times, and archive stay on your iPhone.
- There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud sync.
- The clipboard is read only when you tap Paste. Camera and photos are optional and used only when you scan or attach an image. Text recognition runs on the device.
- No ads. No tracking. No analytics SDK. No sale of data.
2. Who we are
Holdslip is provided as an independent iOS app. Contact: holdslip.support@gmail.com. This address is the privacy and support contact; it is not used for marketing. This generated contact value is not a verified or registered inbox.
3. Data we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, identifiers for advertising, browsing history, or diagnostics. We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporters, or ad networks. We do not track you across apps or websites.
4. On-device data
Slips (title, code, place, due time, reminder, pin, completion, archive, optional JPEG, source text) are stored in the app sandbox. Preferences such as notification enablement and onboarding completion use UserDefaults. This data does not leave the device.
If you scan a photo or use the camera, Holdslip reads pixels on the device with Apple’s Vision framework to suggest a title, code, or place. Images are stored only if you save the slip with a photo attached. We do not upload photos or camera frames.
5. Permissions
- Camera — only if you tap Camera to scan a code or sign. You can refuse; typing, paste, and photo picker still work.
- Photo picker — Holdslip uses the system photo picker. It does not request full photo library access.
- Notifications — only if you want a local reminder before a slip is due. You can refuse; the countdown still works.
Location, contacts, microphone, Health, and tracking are not used. The clipboard is never read at launch or in the background.
6. Sharing
Copy puts a code on the system clipboard on your device. We do not receive a copy. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or other apps. We do not sell personal information.
7. Retention
On-device data stays until you delete a slip, use Clear all slips, or delete the app. Uninstalling Holdslip removes the sandbox data. Pending local notifications are cancelled when a slip is completed, archived, or deleted.
8. Children
Holdslip is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you have read the new version.
